Background

Genuinely Independent

None of us is a member of a political party. We are not funded by any political party or campaign group: we pay for our newsletters and election campaigns ourselves.

We assess every issue on its merits and work with other councillors when we conclude that it is in the best interest of the community.

What’s wrong with the Council?
  • Eastleigh Borough Council’s actions regarding its Local Plan highlighted to us that decisions about our area were not being taken based on evidence.
  • We want to improve transparency and to challenge the Council to do more to consult properly with residents.
  • Local councils should not be dominated by one single political party.

How independent councillors can work for you

Without a party line and without pressure from a party leader, we have found it easy to work with councillors from all parties on the Borough and Parish Councils. Decisions taken are firmly based on securing the best outcome for our community.

“Listening to local residents is so important. We camapign together on the subjects we feel are of most importance to our community.  Your priorities are our priorities.  We are looking forward to restarting our  drop-in listening sessions soon.” Cllr Lou Parker-Jones

We are truly independent local residents who want to help keep our area a great place to live.
