Changes have been made to Eastleigh Borough Council’s Local Plan following the feedback from the Planning Inspector. This includes the deletion of the Strategic Growth Option (SGO) that the council had proposed to build over 5,000 houses and a new major road on countryside north of Bishopstoke and Fair Oak.

It is worth taking a look at the settlement gap proposals. The Inspector advised that where the land was already effectively protected (in particular woodland), it should not be included. She also challenged the approach as being subjective. The gaps were renamed (originally “countryside gaps”) and changed. Do take a look and see if you feel that the gaps will work for our areas. And of course all the other changes.
