Remembrance events took place with restricted numbers in 2020. Services took place, but within lockdown guidance, including at Bishsoptoke’s war memorial.
Ways were found to remember those who lost their lives in the service of our country with poppies in windows, on gates, on the bandstand and even on a fence on Alan Drayton Way. We marked the 2 minute silence on both Remembrance Sunday and on 11th November on our doorsteps. Remembrance felt especially pertinent at this time.
The British Legion’s poppy sellers were unable to sell in-person which made their fundraising challenging. If you’d like to make a donation to the British Legion, call the charity on 0345 845 1945 or take a look at their website: britishlegion.org.uk.
